Kylee Burgess, M.A., CF-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Kylee Burgess was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and raised in Pearland, Texas. She joined the Access to Better Communication team in July 2025. Kylee currently holds a Louisiana Speech-Language Pathology Provisional License and is completing her Clinical Fellowship Year to obtain the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP). She earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2023, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Speech-Language Pathology from Louisiana State University in 2025.
Kylee has gained clinical experience across a variety of settings, including the LSU Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic, Launch Therapy Center, University Laboratory School, and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. From August 2024 to April 2025, she completed two offsite clinical internships with Access to Better Communication and is thrilled to return to the ABC team!
In addition to her clinical work, Kylee served as a peer mentor through the UL LIFE Program, where she supported young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing social, academic, and occupational skills. She has provided speech-language therapy and evaluations for a wide range of communication and feeding disorders, including articulation and phonological disorders, expressive and receptive language disorders, social-pragmatic disorders, fluency disorders, reading and writing difficulties, aural rehabilitation, cleft palate, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Kylee’s interest in speech-language pathology began through her work with the UL LIFE Program and is driven by her passion for advocating for individuals with disabilities. She holds special interest in expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation disorders, social skills, reading, and hearing loss.
Outside of work, Kylee enjoys reading, playing pickleball with her fiancé, attending Broadway shows, traveling, coaching a Special Olympics swim team, and spending time with her dog, Poppy, and her family.
