Kaitlyn Dugas, PL-SLP, M.A., CF-SLP, was born in Baton Rouge and raised in Zachary, Louisiana. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication Disorders with a minor in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University. During her last semester of graduate school, Kaitlyn earned a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license and began her professional career at ABC. She is currently completing a Clinical Fellowship Year to obtain the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).

 

Kaitlyn has gained clinical experience across a variety of settings, including the LSU Speech and Hearing Clinic, Launch Therapy Center, public school setting, Ochsner Therapy and Wellness, Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, Alliance Therapy Services, and Access to Better Communication. During her undergraduate education, Kaitlyn held the role of student worker at Access to Better Communication for over 2 years and completed an offsite clinical rotation at ABC during her graduate school program. We are so lucky to have her on our team!

 

Throughout her experiences, Kaitlyn has provided speech-language therapy and evaluations for a wide range of disorders and populations, including expressive and receptive language disorders, social-pragmatic disorders, fluency disorders, reading and writing disorders, cleft palate, feeding disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She has also gained experience with adult populations working with individuals with aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive-communication difficulties, and dysarthria. Kaitlyn holds a special passion for expressive and receptive language disorders, feeding disorders, and articulation disorders.

 

Outside of work, Kaitlyn enjoys traveling, being outdoors, spending time with her fiancé, family,  and friends, reading, and romance movies.
